I have lived in central New Jersey all my life and enjoy the four seasons it offers. I now reside in Barnegat, a small town in the shore area. Nature and outdoor activities have always interested me, and I try to capture the beauty of nature in my paintings.
I paint only in oils, enjoying the richness and strength that oils project. I like doing seascapes, landscapes, wildlife and combinations of all. I am very critical of subject matter and of frame selections. I paint both large and small works.
I am a member of Pine Shores Art Association in the neighboring town of Manahawkin. There I am a member of the Board and also serve as a volunteer in various capacities. It is a wonderful organization with many skilled artists.
Art accolades include a first place award for a 30"x40" painting titled, Ramsau Church, which competed in a show at Pine Shores. Another painting titled "Guarding The Inlet" took first place in a contest sanctioned by the State of New Jersey and was judged by both the Barnegat Light Historical Society and the New Jersey Parks Commission. The painting of Barnegat Lighthouse was made into a postcard (5,000 were printed.) Also, one of my paintings was a finalist in the Bass River State Parks exhibit, where the winning picture was to be a postcard. I also received a first judge's award in a Pine Shores competition for a painting titled "Morning Light."
